IDSA member NTT Com starts a new phase in the development of the Smart Data Platform. From October this year to March 2022, partners in Japan and Europe will interconnect via the platform on a trial basis. The platform is built on top of the IDS standard.
Based on the test results, the commercial version of the platform will be launched in the first half of 2022. It will enable the secure international exchange of data.
NTT Com has built an IDS-based test environment in the cloud where data can be securely exchanged between companies and organizations. This test environment is built on manufacturing data distribution use cases for decarbonization and resource recycling in the manufacturing industry. From these use cases, NTT Com has derived requirements for the international data connectivity platform.
The trials now launched will test the functionality and practicality of the platform by connecting partners’ devices and systems to the test environment and exchanging data between Japan and Europe. The test environment will also be used to conduct an experiment to connect data spaces from the Smart Connected Supplier Network in the Netherlands and Catena-X in Germany.
The experiments will present at the NTT communication Digital Forum 2021, from October 20 to 22.
