PLATOON & OPEN DEI | Conference on Data Sharing & Governance for Energy Applications

Co-organized by the H2020 projects PLATOON and OPEN DEI, the conference on “Data sharing and governance for Energy applications” will be held in Bilbao, Spain on September 23, 2021.

The intensive current activity at the European level around digital sovereignty and data governance as a requirement for a secure exchange of industrial data among multiple players, with ongoing initiatives such as GAIA-X and IDSA, sets a suitable context to learn from the experts on how to apply these frameworks and architectures to different energy use cases.

The conference has been conceived as an opportunity to facilitate interaction, mutual knowledge, and exchange of best practices and lessons learned among a number of H2020 projects specifically focused in providing added value to energy stakeholders through efficient data sharing, processing, and analysis.

IDSA is strong contributor the conference: In the main session “Data Sharing Challenges” a keynote will be held by Erik Maqueda from IDSA member Tecnalia presenting Tecnalia’s activities on data spaces as facilitators of sovereign data sharing and their ambitions as official IDSA Competence Center in Spain. Antonello Monti from OPEN DEI, in which IDSA is strongly involved, will discuss the needs and challenges that they are facing in order to create a common ground for data sharing in the energy sector. Silvia Castellvi from IDSA will provide insights into the position paper “Design Principles for Data Spaces”, which has been received with great attention by the scientific community. In a further keynote, Thorsten Huelsmann, CFO IDSA, will present the “International Data Spaces as a Standard for Data Governance”.
