IDS meet Industrial Data Excellence

The International Data Spaces Association (IDSA) welcomed DIMECC Ltd, a Finland-based open innovation platform company, as a new member to the Association. DIMECC will support the IDSA in developing a trustworthy data infrastructure in Europe.

“We’re excited to expand IDSA with a new member who will bring technological expertise and insights of different industry sectors in Finland and other Nordic countries to our work,” said Lars Nagel, CEO of IDSA. “And we highly appreciate DIMECC’s efforts to promote sovereign data sharing in manufacturing networks between multiple partners.”

In September 2019, DIMECC’s Intelligent Industry ecosystem launched the InDEx (Industrial Data Excellence) program to create a data exchange community and a common industrial data space in Finland. “As data sharing is a strategic advantage for a growing number of companies and models are not yet fully aligned, we believe it is important to be part of this process,” says Kari Muranen, Senior Ecosystem Lead at DIMECC.

IDS technology and architecture already play a major role in the InDEx program. “We believe that standardization is essential to create a solid foundation not only for sharing data itself, but also for using a broader range of technologies that ensure good data quality for all,” says Kari Muranen.
