The AI4EU Call for Solutions Seeking Companies to Solve AI Challenges

Mar 2, 2021 | News

The AI4EU initiative has launched the Call for Solutions to identify 41 Solution Providers to develop, test and validate technical solutions to specific challenges on the AI4EU Platform or develop new components.

The program is scheduled for six months and provides up to €70,000 in financial support. In addition, Solution Providers receive training on the AI4EU platform, online mentoring and visibility through AI4EU channels, events and ambassadors. The target audience ranges from startups to SMEs, mid-caps, large enterprises, and research institutions that want to solve an AI problem with highly innovative AI-backed ideas.

The Call for Solutions is a continuation of the Call for Challenges, which is currently selecting 13 Challenge Owners. Challenge Owners will work with the 41 Solutions Providers to develop at least two solutions per Challenge.

AI4EU is looking for solutions that solve one of the following challenges that have been published on the AI4EU Platform:

  • AI-based throat-swab robot usable in pandemic prevention.
  • Effective management of Personally Identifiable Information (PII) for agrifood data.
  • Reinforcement learning based machine tool control.
  • Enhancing clinical AI-workflows.
  • Modeling of drugs via deep learning neural network.
  • Optimize stock management with smart procurement strategy.
  • Identification of Colon Cancer risk factors.

AI4EU is the European Union’s landmark Artificial Intelligence project, aiming to develop a European AI ecosystem, bringing together the knowledge, algorithms, tools, and resources available and making it a compelling solution for users. Involving 82 partners, covering 21 countries, the €20M project kicked off in January 2019 will run for three years.

The project has received funding from the European Union’s Horizon 2020 research and innovation program under grant agreement 825619.
