As part of its involvement in the ODEON project, IDSA recently participated in the first ODEON Living Lab workshops held from October 15-17 on the Aran Islands (Inis Óirr and Inis Mór) and in Athlone, Ireland. The workshops gathered 24 local energy consumers, prosumers, and industry stakeholders to explore ODEON’s energy solutions and engage in discussions on energy data orchestration.
The ODEON project aims to co-develop innovative energy solutions by collaborating closely with users and stakeholders to ensure the technologies developed meet real-world needs. By organizing Living Lab workshops and involving local communities, ODEON seeks to facilitate the transition to sustainable, digital, and resilient energy systems across Europe.
The sessions covered themes such as energy independence, digital literacy, local economic opportunities, and policy needs for sustainable energy sharing. Participants shared valuable feedback on issues like renewable energy adoption, local energy sharing, and equity concerns, particularly in island-specific contexts.
The insights gathered during the workshops will inform the ongoing development of ODEON solutions, helping to ensure that they address real-world needs and support the goals of the European energy transition. IDSA will continue to collaborate with project partners to refine strategies and contribute to the next steps of the initiative.
ODEON is funded by the EU under the LCE policy Support Programme (grant agreement No. 101136128).
