High-level stakeholder event | Next level data spaces: Making the Dataspace Protocol an international standard
IDSA’s objective is to develop assets that enable the sovereign sharing of data and accelerate the adoption of data spaces. The Dataspace Protocol (DSP) is the latest in a series. It was designed and specified over many years, and will become an international standard with ISO/SEC in the next few months.
In Brussels on September 9, we shared the vision and ambition behind the DSP with the European community, policy makers from European countries as well as industry associations and our choice to invest so much effort into embarking in the standardisation process:
- IDSA and experts from industry and academia provided an introduction to the DSP and present application examples.
- Valuable insights into the DSP: how it orchestrates data sharing among data space parties, from requesting a catalogue, negotiating a contract, to managing the transfer process.
- The DSP’s journey toward becoming an international standard.
At the end, we involved everyone present in a lively and fruitful discussion. Representatives from the European Commission, industry associations and other data space initiatives shared their views on the DSP, especially how it will complement and facilitate their work, but also what they expect from the DSP when it is an ISO standard.
Whether you were there in Brussels, couldn’t make it or are just now becoming aware of our event, we have compiled the slides shown there and included links to further valuable reading material:
