World Forum on Data Spaces & AI | An international and open meeting with the global data society

The World Forum on Data Spaces & AI 2026 is a high-level international meeting focused on the evolving relationship between data spaces and artificial intelligence (AI), taking place 5 March 2026 at the European Convention Center Luxembourg (ECCL) in Luxembourg City. This forum is part of a broader gathering of global policymakers, industry leaders, researchers, and public sector stakeholders who are shaping future frameworks for trustworthy data governance, sovereign data sharing, and AI-driven innovation.

Organized as an open event by a consortium of Luxembourg-based partners including Luxembourg National Data Services, Dataspace4Luxembourg, the University of Luxembourg and the Data Spaces Hub Luxembourg, the forum highlights real-world use cases in domains such as industry, healthcare, space and defence. It is also associated with the International Open Forum on Data Society (IOFDS), which convenes its member discussions on standards, data sovereignty and international cooperation in the days preceding the public conference.

The program on 5 March will feature keynote talks, panels and expert presentations exploring how data spaces provide the infrastructure for high-quality, trustworthy data to fuel AI development and governance. Participants will engage with strategic questions about data interoperability, cross-sector collaboration and the societal impact of data-driven technologies.

IDSA’s CEO Lars Nagel and Christoph Mertens, Head of Adoption, will attend the forum. As recognized pioneers and thought leaders in the development of data spaces, they contribute expertise on how data spaces provide the essential foundation for delivering high-quality, trustworthy data for AI systems.
