Virtual discourse: Guiding principles for a fair data economy in Germany and Europe

Under the patronage of German Federal Research Minister Bettina Stark-Watzinger, the Fraunhofer ICT Group will be organizing the innovation-oriented dialogue on fair data economics on March 15, 2022.

Data is the key resource of the digital transformation. Currently, different data-economic models are emerging worldwide, with Germany and Europe focusing their approaches on balancing individual self-determination and society’s interest in the use of data. What this means for shaping a data economy according to fair principles is what we would like to present and discuss with you at the event.

Keynotes will be held by Bettina Stark-Watzinger (Federal Minister of Education and Research), Reimund Neugebauer (President of the Fraunhofer-Gesellschaft), York Sure-Vetter (Director of the National Research Data Infrastructure) and Iris Plöger (Member of the BDI Executive Board), Irene Bertschek (ZEW). In addition, IDSA board member and Fraunhofer ICT Group chairman Boris Otto will outline the data economy context and IDSA CEO Lars Nagel will explain the indispensable role of data spaces and the IDS standard in a fair data economy.

The event will be held in the German language.
