IDSA Tech Talk | Mapping the Data Spaces Standardization Landscape – and Shaping Version 3.0

Standardization is what turns data spaces from architectural concepts into operational, trustworthy infrastructure and a key lever for scaling and global economic success.

In this Tech Talk, we introduce the second version of IDSA’s Position Paper “Data Spaces Standardization Landscape” which maps how the IDS Reference Architecture Model, the IDSA Rulebook, and the Dataspace Protocol align with ongoing work in ISO/IEC JTC 1/SC 38, CEN-CENELEC JTC 25 and IEEE P3800 as well as the European regulatory framework (Data Act, Data Governance Act, AI Act).

Building on this European foundation, we take a focused look beyond Europe, at emerging data space-relevant standardization activities in regions such as Japan and China, and discuss what cross-border interoperability requires going forward.

The paper is a living document. We close the session with an open invitation: help us shape Version 3.0 by contributing updates on evolving standards or insights from regions not yet covered.

👉 In short, the Tech Talk will be interactive, and we’d appreciate your participation – register now: events.teams.microsoft.com/event
