IDSA Tech Talk | Dataspace Protocol in action: real-world insights & implementation best practices

The Dataspace Protocol (DSP) is a set of specifications designed to facilitate interoperable data sharing between entities governed by usage control and based on web technologies. These specifications define the schemas and protocols required for entities to publish data, negotiate agreements, and access data within a data space.

Through four keynotes, we will explore the status of the protocol, its technological foundations, why it is so relevant for ICT providers, and how DSP manages identities.

  • Sebastian Steinbuss | IDSA, will introduce the current status of the development under Eclipse Dataspace Working Group and the testing compatible kit (TCK) that is under development.
  • Nicolas Auricchio | Eviden will share insights into the technological foundations of the Dataspace Protocol, based on their experience implementing it with Simpl.
  • Arian Firouzbakhsh | IONOS, will explain the relevance of DSP for ICT providers and how the DSP guarantees the interoperability between the different participants.
  • Finally, Matthias Buchhorn-Roth | Cofinity-X, will guide us through how DSP interacts with identity providers. Data spaces require the ability to communicate participant identities and credentials to secure data access. Matthias will show how DSP defines protocols for asserting participant identities, issuing verifiable credentials, and presenting them using a decentralized architecture for verification and trust.

Who should attend:

This session is aimed at data space developers and implementers who want to learn more about the implementation of the Dataspace Protocol. It will also benefit participants in data spaces who are interested in achieving interoperability from a participant perspective, as well as anyone passionate about data spaces who wants to understand real implementations and solutions for achieving interoperability between participants. Experts in data space standardization will also find value in this session.
