DATAWEEK 2024 | Data Value UNLOCKED!

BDVA together wit imec, CiTiP and KU Leuven are co-hosting a three-day program: The Dataweek 2024 and LAILEC 2024 from June 5 to 7 in Leuven.

On June 5, the European data and AI community will interact on topics such as the AI act implementation, generative AI and foundation models, data quality, synthetic data, data for sustainability. Attendees can engage in brokerage possibilities for the AI calls closing in September and contribute to the launch of community for European experts on AI regulatory sandboxes.

On June 6, discussions on the regulatory frontiers of data and AI will engage on:

  • The impact of new regulations (AI Act, Data Act, Data Governance Act, EHDS regulation,…)
  • Responsible AI and data governance covering compliance methodologies, best practices and notable implementations
  • Innovative solutions such as policy prototyping and regulatory sandboxes
  • Trust in the data economy and society and the role of common European data spaces, data intermediation and data altruism
  • Global AI policy initiatives (UK, US, China,…) to assess their impact and the potential for international regulatory convergence

On June 7, two exciting tracks will run in parallel:

  • ‘Legal labs’: Interactive sessions with legal, technical, governance, ethics professionals and practitioners on data intermediation, data contracts and ethical AI
  • Research Colloquium on Law and Emerging Technologies will provide the opportunity for selected scholars to present their research
  • Global AI policy initiatives (UK, US, China,…) to assess their impact and the potential for international regulatory convergence
