March 19, 2026 – March 20, 2026
8ra Annual Summit 2026 | General Assembly and Open Conference
The 8ra Annual Summit 2026: General Assembly and Open Conference will take place on March 19 & 20, 2026, in Rotterdam, The Netherlands. This two-day event brings together partners, policymakers and stakeholders from across Europe to discuss developments in sovereign, interoperable cloud and edge infrastructure under the 8ra initiative.
The first day comprises the IPCEI-CIS General Assembly, an invitation-only session for IPCEI-CIS partners, member state representatives and EU officials to review progress and strategic governance issues. The second day is the 8ra Open Conference, open to a wider audience including cloud providers, users and industry actors. During the Open Conference, project partners present results, participate in panel discussions and explore cooperation with other European funding programmes and initiatives.
Given the increasing interplay between cloud infrastructure and data space architectures, this event is relevant to organizations working on data-driven digital frameworks: sovereign cloud and edge infrastructures provide the foundations for data spaces, while data spaces in turn depend on robust, interoperable cloud-edge environments to deliver value.
At the 8ra Open Conference on March 20, IDSA’s Mariano Blaya-Andreu will present the Data Space Adoption Forum, a brand-new initiative aimed at simplifying and accelerating how SMEs can join data spaces. This approach focuses on low-effort, cloud-based connector solutions to lower barriers to entry and foster broader data-space participation.
