The International Data Spaces Association (IDSA) is a one of 18 consortia partner in the newly launched DataPACT project. Funded under Horizon Europe, DataPACT aims to integrate compliance, ethics, and sustainability into data and AI operations. IDSA contributes its expertise in secure and sovereign data sharing, guiding the development of federated data spaces that prioritize data sovereignty and ethical considerations.
The project focuses on creating systems that respect privacy and environmental standards while helping organizations meet legal and ethical requirements. A central element of the initiative is the creation of open European data spaces to enable reliable cross-border data sharing. These data spaces aim to support interoperability and traceability, providing a foundation for transparent data-driven solutions across industries.
To address regulatory compliance challenges, DataPACT will offer tools such as the Compliance Toolbox and the Compliance Framework. These resources are designed to help organizations implement compliance-aware data and AI pipelines, incorporating privacy and sustainability requirements throughout the process.
By tackling the complexities of compliance and ethics in data innovation, the project supports the European data economy while safeguarding fundamental rights. With IDSA’s involvement, DataPACT seeks to build a more sustainable and trustworthy digital environment for businesses and citizens.
