Researchers, contributors, and adopters of IDS are invited to participate in the upcoming workshop, The Second International Workshop on Semantics in Dataspaces to be held in conjunction with ESWC24 in Crete, Greece.
The significance of data spaces in enabling seamless and trusted data sharing has surged, particularly in Europe, with the enactment of the European Data Governance Act (DGA). This legislative milestone not only defines crucial terms but also aims to bolster trust, expand data availability, and foster common data spaces across sectors. Initiatives like the European Open Science Cloud and the adoption of the FAIR Data Principles further underscore the relevance of data spaces in today’s data-driven landscape.
The Semantic Web Dataspaces (SDS) 2024 workshop endeavors to advance semantic methods and solutions for data spaces by fostering collaboration between researchers and practitioners. It aims to enhance the expressiveness, standardization, and integration of semantic technologies in data space architectures, offering interactive sessions, presentations, and discussions to propel advancements in semantics for data spaces. The workshop will explore various facets of data spaces, ranging from conceptual definitions to practical implementations, with a focus on the role of the Semantic Web.
