3rd Conference: “Public Data – Better Handling of Government Data” | Fraunhofer FOKUS
The 3rd Conference “Public Data – Better Handling of Government Data”, organized by Fraunhofer FOKUS, will take place on October 1, 2026, in Berlin. The conference brings together representatives from politics and public administration, as well as stakeholders from business, research, and civil society, to discuss the importance of high-quality and accessible data for the digital transformation of the public sector.
The programme covers a range of topics, including semantic interoperability, data governance, data portals, data literacy, data maps, and the use of AI in the public sector. Fraunhofer FOKUS has been a long-standing IDSA partner for more than 10 years, contributing to the early development of the IDS Reference Architecture Model (IDS-RAM). The collaboration later focused particularly on component testing and IDS Certification.
Session 8, “From legal text to policy implementation – from text data to the implementation of digital applications,” will explore how legal requirements can be translated into practical digital applications. DataPACT, a Horizon Europe project involving IDSA, will present how its AI compliance solutions translate requirements such as those of the EU AI Act into code, enabling organizations, including public authorities, to address compliance before implementing AI-based systems rather than after deployment.
