Data Stewardship Program | Intensive Course 2nd Edition for Civil Society
The Data Stewards Intensive Course 2.0 in Berlin is aimed at civil society actors seeking to advance responsible data use. Organized by The Data Tank in collaboration with The GovLab and supported by the Bertelsmann Stiftung, the program is free of charge and offers a compact five-day in-person training, followed by online sessions. Participants learn practical ways to embed an open and strategic data culture in their organizations, covering needs assessment, governance, and measuring the impact of data initiatives.
This is where IDSA comes in: Since it is all about the trustworthy provision of data and responsible data use, it is only logical that Gianfranco Cecconi, CSO at IDSA, will give an introduction to data spaces on October 15, 2025.
Building on the success of its first edition, the course combines expert talks, group work, site visits, and peer-to-peer exchanges. In 2024, participants gained valuable insights from institutions such as GovTech Campus, Wikimedia Deutschland, and the Global Migration Data Analysis Center. This blend of theory, practice, and networking provides a rich learning environment for those who see data skills as a lever for social impact.
