IDSA establishes China Competence Center: Strengthening international data sharing and collaboration

The official establishment of the International Data Space Association (IDSA) China Competence Center was announced on July 6th at the 5th Global Digital Economy Conference in Beijing. The China Competence Center will promote IDS concepts in China and raise awareness for trustful data sharing. it is operated by the China Future Internet Engineering Center (CFIEC).

It acts as a “connector” for trustful international data sharing, contributing China’s expertise to IDS-based global data space technology and standards, while fostering an international ecosystem for data sharing and management.

Dr. Reinhold Achatz, Chairman of the Board of Directors of IDSA, expressed his congratulations on the establishment of the IDSA China Competence Center. He welcomed Chinese partners to actively engage in the association’s work: “I believe that IDSA China Competence Center will become a leader and innovator in the development and application of data space concepts, technical architectures and standards in China, and promote the formation of an international data ecosystem.”

Liu Dong, Director of IDSA’s China Competence Center and Director of the China Future Internet Engineering Center, highlighted the center’s collaborative approach. He emphasized that the China Competence Center will engage partners from various sectors to conduct technology research and development, establish data space standards, accelerate market adoption, and foster international exchanges and cooperation in the field of data sharing. Liu Dong emphasized the center’s role in integrating resources, promoting knowledge exchange, technological innovation, and facilitating the development of the digital economy.

The establishment of the IDSA China Competence Center will further deepen international cooperation in the field of trustful data sharing, providing opportunities and benefits for the development of the global digital economy.
